Daily game
Pit Word
Guess the Formula 1 word in five. A new one daily.
About Pit Word
Pit Word is a daily Formula 1 word game. Five goes to find the word, which alternates between five and six letters day to day, and every answer belongs to the sport: drivers, circuits, teams, rules, tyres, the parts of the car. Colours tell you how close you are. Guesses have to be real words, and the dictionary includes the Formula 1 names, so ALONSO and MONZA are accepted rather than rejected as nonsense. Solve it and you get the story behind the word.
How to play
- Five letters, five goes. Six letters on some days.
- Real words only, and every Formula 1 name counts as one.
- Green is the right letter in the right place, amber is the right letter in the wrong place.
- A new word every day, and a run for every day you solve it.
A new puzzle every day
Pit Word resets at midnight UTC, not local midnight, so everyone plays the same puzzle on the same day wherever they are. There is no leaderboard, by design: the game keeps a run of the days you solve and a grid you can share, which is where the competition actually lives. It is free, there is nothing to install, and it works in any modern browser.
