Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2018: Practice 3 team radio
35 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2018, across 14 drivers. 32 of them have a transcript; the rest are audio only. Pierre GASLY had the most, with 7.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: The track is a bit more dirty from the leaves and stuff. Okay, understood. And there are reports from Marshall of some drops of rain in 17, 18. So just be careful. Can you hear me? Now, yes.
Engineer: I'm stuck in second gear when I stop.
Audio only, no transcript available for this message.
Pierre GASLY: Guys can you check the steering is really light in right corners and really heavy in left corners
Engineer: Copy fail red one fail fail red one fail
Engineer: Your
Pierre GASLY: support got better, but still a bit detraction, a bit snappy sometimes. I feel like I'm a bit more real limited on braking now, which helped me for big braking zone, but maybe with a lot of flow speed I have a bit of rear lock.
Lance STROLL: Okay, I'm really losing the rear towards the end of the lap.
Lewis HAMILTON: Just need to change the rears.
Engineer: Copy.
Engineer: Tyres are on the cold side.
Engineer: So Sainz is four seconds in front still got 15 seconds behind to Hamilton so you can make your gap
Engineer: What do I do? Cool down and up I guess? Yeah, I suggest to let the tyres recover, let the tyres recover.
Engineer: Okay Sergei, that's good. Let's take a cool down there. So target plus 10 for this cool down.
Romain GROSJEAN: Okay, sorry guys, I'm really struggling here
Engineer: What
Romain GROSJEAN: happened in to turn 15 was it we're locking that doesn't allow me to push okay,
Engineer: we're double-checking
Romain GROSJEAN: Okay, I've got loads of oversteer, mid-corner, pretty much everywhere.
Engineer: Big tailwind turn 15
Engineer: And we'll box now box
Engineer: Ok Marcus, box box so you can practice P103 again.
Engineer: If you're not planning any major car setup changes, you could do another slow and then fast.
Pierre GASLY: Braxton I think is slightly better, considering the tires, but still the rear support is the main issue, and two of the low speed especially.
Engineer: Straight out, straight out.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Balance is pretty, let's say stable, I know what I'm getting, so happy to box if you want.
Engineer: OK, I'm boxing now, I'm recharging, no worries. Can we finish this lap please, we need to do an aero cruise.
Pierre GASLY: I'm missing too much rear support
Engineer: Yeah, the tyre is degrading
Engineer: Hamilton 8 seconds in front on push up, behind you is Kimi on cool down in turn 1.
Brendon HARTLEY: Yeah, it's a bit too easy to lock the front brake. I'm gonna go more migration
Lewis HAMILTON: That's a bit of time there, 15?
Engineer: Yeah, copy.
Lewis HAMILTON: Are we boxing?
Engineer: I think we ought to box, just mileage limits.
Sergey SIROTKIN: Sorry guys, I crashed it in turn 3.
Engineer: Okay, so are you okay?
Sergey SIROTKIN: Yeah, sorry for that.
Engineer: Okay, so we need to turn off the car.
Sebastian VETTEL: Okay, I messed up the last corner pretty badly, but that was okay
Brendon HARTLEY: Do we definitely get one lap?
Engineer: How
Brendon HARTLEY: much do I need to push on the un-lap?
Engineer: We need to stay with the pack, we need to stay with the pack please.
Engineer: I'm not sure.

Pierre GASLY: Yeah, but tires are so cold, I cannot back off.
Lance STROLL: Right turns off, eh?
Engineer: Just watch for Reichen as he comes through. He's three seconds back. He may well have aborted as well. Yeah, he backed off.
Audio only, no transcript available for this message.
Pierre GASLY: It was quite a scrappy lap with the traffic, but we have a couple of turns in the pocket.
