Istanbul Park

Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul Park is a modern classic, and it is defined by one corner above all: Turn 8, a long, multi-apex left-hander taken at high speed that loads the tyres and the driver's neck like almost nowhere else. The rest of the anticlockwise lap flows through sweeping changes of elevation, but that single corner, with its several apexes strung together, is what drivers remember most vividly.

Widely rated among the best circuits of its era, it earned its reputation largely on the strength of that famous sequence. The combination of high-speed commitment and undulating terrain makes it a lap that rewards a confident car and a strong neck in equal measure.
