Austrian Grand Prix 2020: Practice 3 team radio
32 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the Austrian Grand Prix 2020, across 14 drivers. Carlos SAINZ had the most, with 5.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: It's a 10k tailwind braking for turn three.
Alexander ALBON: Why are we so out of sync? Can I just double close to get it to sync?
Nicholas LATIFI: Sorry guys
Engineer: I
Nicholas LATIFI: crashed, guys. Are you okay, mate? Are you okay? Yeah. Sorry, guys.
Lance STROLL: On this lap, can I take temperature out of the tires? Copy that. I don't want to hit the brakes so hard.
Engineer: Yeah.
Lance STROLL: Crepes finito!
Engineer: Brakes are coming in well, just need the recharge button.
Engineer: Okay, careful with the peak brake pressure into turn three on the limit of front locking there.
George RUSSELL: Tyres do not feel very well balanced at all. Worse than yesterday.
Engineer: Copy.
Engineer: OK, so compared to the fastest medium tyre runner, Bottas in P2 a 5.4, Ewer a 5.6, Hamilton first lap also a 5.6.
Engineer: Okay Esteban, you're carrying a little bit more speed than Daniel into 7th and losing a little bit on the exit.
Alexander ALBON: Yeah we are locking a lot, I think it's
Engineer: a
Alexander ALBON: zero tailwind into turn 3, but we're locking, we need more migration than what we have.
Lance STROLL: I think I have to do a hard out lap now.
Engineer: Copy that, yeah. Front temperatures and pressures on the low side, so work on front temperature, pressures low.
Engineer: Okay, remember, cool down lap should be 10 seconds slower than run one.
Engineer: Crank is clear. You can push.
Engineer: and try and warm the front tires a bit if you can warm the fronts if you can
Engineer: The only loss braking on apex for turn 4, turn 4 braking
Engineer: Recharge on.
Engineer: Wanna take one more, we have time, or are you happy there?
Sebastian VETTEL: Yeah, I'll take one more, I'll try to bring the tyres down.
Engineer: There's a little bit of time you can find exit to turn 4. Turn 4 is just a bit of a compromise. Entry versus exit. Gain on entry, lose a little on exit.
Engineer: OK, so we're running out of time. We could take another lap with a single cool down. It'll be strat 11 if there's no point and the tyres down, we're boxing. No, the tyres are going, so box. Box, box, box. So you can drive through for a flap adjust.
Engineer: tires in good position tires in good position it will be go one
Engineer: Engine 5, position 2, engine 5, position 2, and it'll be a double slow lap for us mate, double slow.
Alexander ALBON: Much better. I don't know how it is in pace, but car feels pretty good Still a bit of understeer in corner in the low speed
Engineer: Copy
Max VERSTAPPEN: Can we box? The tyres are not improving.
Engineer: Yep, we are boxing. Pick up the pace please.
Engineer: And biggest loss was turn 3 apex speed.
Engineer: So we can afford to cool the tires a little bit more, but you need to brake temp before the end of the lap.
Engineer: Alex, we'd prefer to stay out for a practice launch. We'd prefer to stay out for a practice launch. One minute until the checkered flag.
Engineer: Cool the car if you can please mate.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Why am I in tyre 5 while I'm on these tyres?
Engineer: Just follow the dash. I have to leave it? OK. Yep, just leave it there. Thank you.
Engineer: Then a gear one launch on the right hand side right hand side
Engineer: Ok Carlos, cool the car, cool the car. We're going to stop at the FIA scales and do some checks.
Engineer: Remember to keep your helmet on whilst you get weighed, and keep your helmet on whilst you get weighed.
