French Grand Prix 2021: Practice 3 team radio
29 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the French Grand Prix 2021, across 15 drivers. Max VERSTAPPEN had the most, with 3.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: Can I see you burn your car on track at the minute and OK for GX3, OK for GX3 when you can.
Engineer: Okay charge on Mick, charge on. With this low track temp we weren't too hot on rear tires so we think maybe a single back-off so just do a good slow back-off lap and I think we'll be okay on temps.
Engineer: How's the balance?
Esteban OCON: Yeah, it's good at the moment.
Engineer: Okay, that's good.
Engineer: Commands, if you're okay to continue, you've got Vettel, Ricciardo both pushing very close behind. I've got the... No, I've
Nikita MAZEPIN: got the...
Engineer: Okay then, watch for Ricciardo on a push, three behind.
Mick SCHUMACHER: Traction was getting worse and worse now.
Engineer: Sure, okay. Probably it's the tire, so I'll just come back to you if there's anything else to work on. You have Norris 8 behind on a push, and then Perez 20 behind.
Engineer: So the various slow laps around you at the moment could well be slower than our out lap requirements So feel free to overtake them as you need to
Engineer: you were on the limit for track limits turn six exit turn six exit on the limit
Sergio PEREZ: How do you see the vibrations from your side?
Engineer: Yeah, we can see them in the data. Is it all okay from your side to go for the next lap?
Sergio PEREZ: Yeah, I can try.
Engineer: Yeah, copy.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, pretty **** lap to be honest.
Engineer: And our lap was deleted for track limit in turn 6. Lap deleted, track limit turn 6.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Okay I'll box this lap. Just in general everything felt pretty decent so not a whole lot to say at this stage. We can chat more once I get back. Yeah that's good the data looks good we're pretty happy with that start so we're box this lap it's gonna be pit stop practice and engine off.
Engineer: okay so first so you're clear behind so we thought that the fronts were quite cold to start that lap what's your thoughts? Yeah I'd agree, I'd
Sebastian VETTEL: agree but generally cars a bit on the nose so it wasn't too bad.
Engineer: Copy that so we can just keep a bit of braking mid to end of the lap that's what kills the fronts at the end of the cool lap. We'll go for one more cool, one more cool.
Engineer: Infomax track limits turn 6, so that lap time was deleted and we saw the moment through there.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Are you sure? I thought I was still in.
Engineer: I haven't seen the video, I'm just giving you the race control message.
Engineer: As you know this was a track limits lap time deleted and we boxed the lap.
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: Copy.
Engineer: And 10-6, because of the snap, we got the lap time deleted, but you know yourself.
Yuki TSUNODA: What? I wasn't within the white line, that's ridiculous.
Engineer: We can see the same trend as yesterday, same trend as yesterday with the balance, so we're gonna do the test item, and see what we get Got pit Torque 5, Torque 5, box, box, through the pit lane
Pierre GASLY: So where are we and where are we losing?
Engineer: So we're currently P4, and I'll keep you posted on the GPS, we're looking
Engineer: The brakes, there's a bit of pulling, so is it offset in the front axle or the rear is just cool? Front axle, front axle.
Nicholas LATIFI: Copy.
Engineer: There's a large front axle split, there's a large front axle split. Focus on putting back everything in the window and you can push pit entry gap 9 seconds.
Engineer: So currently P2, Valtry P1, 2 tenths, sector 1, 7 hundredths, sector 2, 8 hundredths, sector 3, 7 hundredths.
Engineer: It's mainly evenly spread over the corners we mentioned turn 1, turn 5, 8 and 14.
Engineer: and we need to try to brake earlier turns 3 and 14
Charles LECLERC: I don't think I will improve that at that time.
Engineer: So, Checo, how are the tyres on that lap?
Sergio PEREZ: Yeah, they started a bit better. I suffered a bit in general with a bit of understeer in the high speed. But that's from the balance, the tyre was in a better condition.
Yuki TSUNODA: Why is there so much understeer after we changed the front wing?
Engineer: We'll let you know, we'll let you know.
Yuki TSUNODA: The balance changed massively, the balance changed massively.
Engineer: Yuki, we come in for a flap adjust now, we come in for a flap adjust.
Carlos SAINZ: It still has the rear wing lights on, but not the rear of the car on, I
Engineer: don't know why.
Engineer: How are the tyres? Second time round?
Sergio PEREZ: Yeah, I lost it a bit into final sector. The final sector was quite a bit worse.
Engineer: Yeah, copy that.
Engineer: Ok, traffic still good, no one, no threat at all from behind.
Yuki TSUNODA: Having degradation 63, front and rear.
Engineer: Copy, understood. Was the rotation better at the beginning of the lap?
Yuki TSUNODA: Yeah, the beginning of the lap was better, the rotation was better.
Engineer: Okay sorry about that, again tight on temperature. So that's the chequered flag, you've got science finishing a lap behind.
Lewis HAMILTON: Bruce, my answer is no
Engineer: And negative, just call the car out of 9
