Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023: Practice 3 team radio
50 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023, across 17 drivers. 47 of them have a transcript; the rest are audio only. Lewis HAMILTON had the most, with 7.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: So Lance Trenton is 20, which is about plus 6 on where we finished earlier this morning.
Engineer: That is our target, Waxabix.
Engineer: So Lance reminder we need good braking into turn five, good braking into turn five Piastri looks like he's doing the same as us To let him go a little bit
Engineer: And recommend Stratus 6 and we can get into the run
Lewis HAMILTON: Tracks reset, right hand down
Engineer: Copy
George RUSSELL: Still got that snap into turn 1
Engineer: Yeah, could be that suit of marker
ZHOU Guanyu: I've got Masks on,
Engineer: so
ZHOU Guanyu: I'm dead. Watch it. Check my front right, it's like a huge vibration.
Engineer: Copy, Joe.
ZHOU Guanyu: Another one is from mid-corner, but it's nothing. My vibration is really high.
Engineer: Copy, we are looking at it.
ZHOU Guanyu: At the moment, it's
Engineer: a
ZHOU Guanyu: dribble with the tyre.
Engineer: Copy.
ZHOU Guanyu: Like I have a massive shake.
Engineer: Hamilton behind is pushing. Do you think Ati can continue? Joe, question?
ZHOU Guanyu: No.
Engineer: I've got
George RUSSELL: oxidation on the dash.
Engineer: We're happy. We're happy where you are. We're happy to keep doing what you're doing.
George RUSSELL: Big slide on the rear, turn 14 I'm not convinced that's from surface temperature, it's a similar feeling to run 1 and P2
Engineer: Looks like you've completely taken the **** out of that.
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: Yeah, completely.
Engineer: Time
Lewis HAMILTON: difference?
Engineer: Georgia is at 39.8 last lap
Engineer: Was a good lap, good work in turn 12 with the brake release.
Engineer: okay so we're going into a cool lap now can we go to break five please break five, rear temps a little higher than expected, clear of traffic behind, just going to use that break five just to try and rebalance the axles, currently P3 with that time, Pierre's first lap 37.1 for reference
Lando NORRIS: Still just too much for you looking
Engineer: Can you test EB7? EB7, we'll do one more lap.
Valtteri BOTTAS: No, not with these tyres. OK, copy. It's getting quite sketchy here, so... From the rear question? Yeah, the rear is OK.
Engineer: OK Daniel, head down, not an easy start, but we have plenty of laps to go, so we focus on the next now. Sector 1, was it a bit of traffic? We lost 3 tanks there.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Yep. Yeah, it's
Engineer: the
Daniel RICCIARDO: last sector as well a bit. Yeah, it's quite slippery at the moment.
Engineer: OK copy, so Sector 1, UT was just half a tank ahead in his last attempt. On Sector 2 and 3, we are currently P13.
Engineer: So Sargent four seconds time-lapse Then Gasly four seconds behind him then Ocon two seconds behind Gasly Sargent coming through Gasly four seconds then Ocon. Just
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: one at the time. I can't do all those one at the time yeah
Engineer: How's the initial balance?
Max VERSTAPPEN: I think it's okay. Front end is quite a bit more pointy in the high speed, I guess that's okay.
Engineer: With the double slow we can back it out if you want to.
Max VERSTAPPEN: I follow. No, no, it's okay.
Engineer: Okay, understood.
Engineer: You okay?
Logan SARGEANT: Yeah, all good.
Engineer: Max Flapper, just a question
Max VERSTAPPEN: No, that's not good Just a tiny bit rearwards, rearwards on entry of turn 7 Tiny bit
Engineer: OK, we see a bit of rear locking Lance, so we're thinking plus one on brake balance, but if you don't feel... No, I don't feel it. Understood, yeah, let's leave it, no problem.
Daniel RICCIARDO: I've literally got no front grip Yeah, okay, I got a box
Alexander ALBON: Where is there a clear gap?
Engineer: Talk to me, one second.
Alexander ALBON: Nothing, just every time I do a lap, everyone's on a long one.
Engineer: Ok Daniel, so I think the reason is clear, the front tires are quite damaged So we shouldn't carry over too much of the conclusion on that last push lap balance
Alexander ALBON: Yeah, but I just thought what a start my next outside is when everyone's doing long ones
Engineer: Yeah, we think everyone will move on to low fuel again
Charles LECLERC: I'm surprised with the feeling because the tyres didn't look good after the short run
Engineer: Copy understood, unbox this lap
Engineer: OK, so that's P7 at the moment, 1.3 to Verstappen, expect to find a lot on the second push. George took a prep lap, so got a difference across there, he was 35.1.
George RUSSELL: Chris I don't have the tea water on the dashboard, I've
Engineer: got
George RUSSELL: the oxidation limits
Engineer: OK, so that's P7 at the moment, 1.3 to Verstappen, expect to find a lot on the second push.
Engineer: Let's check
George RUSSELL: that rear slide at braking of 12,
Engineer: it's pretty
George RUSSELL: terrible in the rain
Engineer: Yeah, copy that, will do
Engineer: So you're probably aware of this, we think it's worth trying a bit earlier break for seven.
Engineer: the turn 12 locking just looks like it's both axles so we suggest we need to be a little bit straighter under braking there and just caution on the ramp up on brake pressure
Lewis HAMILTON: Long way down.
Engineer: Where
Lewis HAMILTON: am I down? Everywhere.
Engineer: Lot of it turn 3 minimum speed 20 kph. And then late braking turn 7 and turn 9. George carrying a bit more min speed there.
Pierre GASLY: Yeah, it's still a slow shift. Doesn't work.
Engineer: Yeah, we're still looking at the issue. We're still happy to continue. We know what the loss of performance is.
Pierre GASLY: Yeah, it's just dangerous.
Engineer: The
Pierre GASLY: impeding from Carlos is over.
Engineer: Copy that.
Alexander ALBON: Box, damage.
Engineer: Reload, punch it.
Engineer: So there's yellows on the exit of 12, there's a tyre, it's on the right hand side, and then Albon has stopped further down this straight, so you've got yellows where you are now, and then Albon has stopped, before turn 14, he's on the left.
Engineer: And that's it for the session, will not be resumed, and there is a car stopped on the back straight, on the left hand side I think, and there is a tyre, out of turn 12, between 12 and 14, not sure why, where, and I think he's on the left, but he's out of the way, so it's not dangerous, there is a tyre on the right hand side, close to the wall, in the same straight.
Max VERSTAPPEN: What was Lewis doing there do
Engineer: you need to ask he was told by his engineer

Engineer: I
Lewis HAMILTON: have s*** batteries on my inside.
Lewis HAMILTON: She'll let me know about that
Engineer: What's going on down there Max?
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, they're just waving f***ing white flags, not yellows.
Engineer: The
Pierre GASLY: impeding from Carlos is over.
Engineer: Copy that.
Audio only, no transcript available for this message.
Alexander ALBON: I don't want to damage my fall, but my tires just come off.
Engineer: Yeah, I can see that now.
Audio only, no transcript available for this message.
Engineer: Tsunoda approaching, well it can't be a push lap because he's just gone by a slow-moving Alex and a tyre that's on the track.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Oh he is sending it!
Max VERSTAPPEN: Whoa! Tire off here! In front of me someone lost a tire.
Engineer: Yeah, it looks like that could be from the car ahead Alex.
Yuki TSUNODA: Hamilton was so dangerous, he didn't even move, he was in a straight line.
Engineer: Understood.
