Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024: Practice 3 team radio
59 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024, across 17 drivers. 57 of them have a transcript; the rest are audio only. Pierre GASLY had the most, with 9.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Fernando ALONSO: Yeah, turn 5 ok, wind maybe a little bit different direction on the flags
Engineer: Use DRS again. The worst tailwind is exit of 7, about 15 kph, exit of 7 into 8.
Engineer: Okay, recharge on. Recharge on and we'll box this lap.
Engineer: Let's get an aero cruise out of turn 5 that'll be aero P5 you've got no traffic behind
Engineer: Okay mate, so we're going to do a couple of aero cruisers on the way in, like aero P5, after turn 5 please, aero P5.
Engineer: Still early in the session, mate, so let's come on in and have a chat.
Lance STROLL: Had some smoke from the front left disc in turn six.
ZHOU Guanyu: Looks okay on the data for you, the brakes? All good, all good.
Engineer: and work on your tire temps.
George RUSSELL: Can we just check the padding on the left hand side the tape is just starting to roll over itself
ZHOU Guanyu: How is the break on the day 2? For me it's feeling better but I might need a bit more lap from the...
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, turn on ratings.
Engineer: Copy.
Engineer: Let me go to strat five, strat five.
Engineer: We'll repeat the aero cruises, so aero P5 out of turn 5.
Pierre GASLY: I start to have a bit more snubs than the Speciavilla sector of that last lap.
Max VERSTAPPEN: What can I do for 5? Felt like they might make their late entry.
Alexander ALBON: Massive raid, like, really early in the lab.
Engineer: And we have a heavy wind in turn 5, so you can use push to go if you need.
Sergio PEREZ: I was sitting, lacking some great support there. I'm thinking just to move the bias forward there.
Yuki TSUNODA: Yeah, I feel like the tyre gave up quite quickly towards the end.
Yuki TSUNODA: Especially after Turn 7, I had quite a muscle snap. I don't know why.
Engineer: Turn 7, perhaps too much apex curve.
Lewis HAMILTON: How far off Norris?
Engineer: So it's just over a tenth to turn Norris. It's mainly 13-14. Yeah. The rest of the corners look reasonably strong. Traffic in turn 9 as well.
Engineer: So, any benefits from the FlapAdjust?
Sergio PEREZ: No. The tyre, I think, it's gone.
Max VERSTAPPEN: I don't know
Engineer: if
Max VERSTAPPEN: there's one that feels weird, it's 13, like on entry I'll be severe, yeah I see, and then with corner, front right, gives up a bit.
Liam LAWSON: Ok, I went off at 10-6
Engineer: Is that just too fast in? Yeah, copy. That's too fast in, turn 9.
Engineer: Okay, go switch to go in, just watch the clerk, three seconds back.
Pierre GASLY: My temperatures are different.
Engineer: Yep, so we're happy with temperatures. We want to target zero on the dash.
Pierre GASLY: There he is!
Engineer: Norris behind there, pushing the braking too much in turn 5, braking, so Norris with you now.
Engineer: Is that a joke?
Engineer: I just don't understand why they did the change. 3 seconds to resample.
George RUSSELL: Yeah, it is a bit hot by that point
Engineer: Absolutely spot on the marks there.
Engineer: So got to say Jack that looked like a pretty decent lap to me I gave away a bit of time on the exit of 7
Max VERSTAPPEN: And silence.
Engineer: Four seconds max. I
Max VERSTAPPEN: like the big stops. I'm right in the rear because I just feel like there's an efficiency in the front. Braking.
Engineer: Yeah, understood.
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, mistake, turn 9,
Engineer: we're still good. Yeah, you were quicker on the medium, yeah.
Lewis HAMILTON: Still
Engineer: a small loss, a late entry, minimum speed, but it's just under a tenth.
Lewis HAMILTON: No, is it just too late on the brakes anywhere?
George RUSSELL: Mark, is there some aero bouncing?
Engineer: We've got three cars, Alonso, Suno, Sainz and no pressure behind.
Engineer: Two minutes to go.
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: Any chance I can go slow enough to take the flag it's
Engineer: two minutes 20 a bit very slow
Fernando ALONSO: I was doing the yellow button 267.
Engineer: I think you did miss it on the last push
Engineer: So Oscar, at turn nine, we'll go recharge off and that will allow you to check the new deployment. That will allow you to check the new deployment.
Engineer: Did
Lewis HAMILTON: many people improve their second lap?
Engineer: Not many by the look of it, I'll just need to run through it quickly. It looks like most people were hitting it on lap one. Perez, he got a second lap out of it.
Yuki TSUNODA: That was a pretty shocking start, I would say. I had also quite a lot
Engineer: of
Yuki TSUNODA: big shocking when I shifted up to second to third, I guess. Or first to second, like gear was not synced.
Engineer: Yeah, Yuki, we see that downgraded upshift. We know what it is.

George RUSSELL: What happened there? Was that uber shallow?
Fernando ALONSO: I think it's going to be a good day. A good feeling.
Engineer: Good.
Lewis HAMILTON: Need to remove this sticker on my... inside my cockpit, please.
Engineer: Okay, copy.
Pierre GASLY: Yeah, it's quite a lot of pulling on the brakes.
Engineer: Okay, copy that.
George RUSSELL: Yeah, not sure what's going on car feels feels okay just very slow
George RUSSELL: Yeah, let me know what you're thinking. Right now, I don't really have any major thoughts. I don't really know why the pace is so bad.
Engineer: What was the main balance limitation on that, then?
George RUSSELL: Well, nothing major, mate. It's, yeah, I mean, everything feels reasonably normal. It's just all slow.
Alexander ALBON: The balance shifted like crazy
Max VERSTAPPEN: My brakes are not working and the front axle isn't biting, it's like they are glazed or something
Engineer: Ok, copy that
Engineer: Yes, DP-1, 23-4.
