Hungarian Grand Prix 2018: Practice 3 team radio
30 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the Hungarian Grand Prix 2018, across 16 drivers. Carlos SAINZ had the most, with 4.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: Did I synchronize all of them? Confirmed, confirmed.
Engineer: remember if the revs are difficult come off try again if it's difficult a second time be deep on throttle so I can see the wind is quite light maybe a slight tailwind exit turn five and a tailwind through eight and nine so exit turn five that's the way the winds blowing
Engineer: Yeah, I cannot synchronize it here. OK, Carlos, so we were a bit too low on revs to sync 8, so we need higher revs for that.
Carlos SAINZ: Quite a lot stronger front end compared to yesterday, especially low speed. The tires held on pretty well into the last sector.
Lewis HAMILTON: Keep an eye on the vibration on the brakes.
Engineer: OK, copy. Yeah,
Lewis HAMILTON: so the left hand down.
Engineer: Vibration. OK, copy.
Romain GROSJEAN: Wait, what is it doing it?
Engineer: I don't know man. He's on the back off
Engineer: So Grosjean will be five seconds behind he's obviously gonna have a load of traffic to go through now
Sebastian VETTEL: I went wide in turn 5, I lost a bit there, otherwise it was ok.
Brendon HARTLEY: Yeah, I had a lot of overstay entry So I think I need to close the diff up or come forward on brake balance as well. Wasn't
Engineer: a
Brendon HARTLEY: good lap
Engineer: So two charge laps in a row. Sure. Yep
Charles LECLERC: Can you do something for my rear brakes please, I want something for one of the rear brakes.
Engineer: So brake compensation 9, multi beam brake compensation 9, so we hope this will help.
Sebastian VETTEL: OK, something just flew into my cockpit, turn 8, box. OK, copy. Are you happy to do the start, or you want us to check the car? Yeah, I think so, I have no clue what it is. I'm trying to reach it, but can't find it. Do the start, doesn't hurt at the moment. OK, copy.
Engineer: Okay, boys, there is something strange with the engine braking. In 12, I get some more. Okay. In 13, I get more than I want. 12, 13, more than you want, okay. Understood. You downshift, and after the downshift, there's a weird thing happening. Okay, Eric's in three behind on a push.
Engineer: Okay Max, shall we have another go but try to keep the pace up slightly for this lap?
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah but I don't think it works. I have no battery and to achieve a little bit of battery I have to be really hard on the downshift.
Engineer: Okay so just make sure you keep the RPM high by being in as low a gear as possible during this lap.
Engineer: Watch, we'll stop him behind, pushing.
Charles LECLERC: Yeah, I haven't seen him, but no point to brake test me just because I haven't seen him.
Engineer: Do you need another push lap question?
Charles LECLERC: Yeah, we can.
Kimi RAIKKONEN: Yeah, left front lost up grip on the last two corners.
Engineer: Yes, we so understood.
Engineer: Yellow way up Willie, yellow way up
Carlos SAINZ: Yep, bueno
Carlos SAINZ: People are improving.
Engineer: There were a few cars that improved on the used set.
Engineer: Did you touch anything? Copy that.
Engineer: Esteban, we've got reports that a lot of cars are all four wheels off the exit at turn 5 using a lot of road on the exit there.
Esteban OCON: That is not allowed then.
Engineer: They are doing it, they are doing it there where you are now.
Lewis HAMILTON: Ah, I've got no grip, bonnet.
Engineer: On
Lewis HAMILTON: time, Vettel in group 2.
Engineer: So, Vettel at 1617. I
Lewis HAMILTON: just don't have that grip.
Engineer: My
Lewis HAMILTON: tires aren't ready.
Engineer: Do you still have understeer? Question?
Daniel RICCIARDO: Yeah, there's still a bit. I think the engine braking is too much, so I'd like to come off that, but add front.
Lewis HAMILTON: Is
Engineer: there
Lewis HAMILTON: still time?
Engineer: I think you'll be tight trying to get in a double prep lap Damn,
Lewis HAMILTON: push the box Yeah,
Engineer: ASAN, just do that
Engineer: Should we try double cool-up, or what do you think? Yeah, we'll try the double cool-down.
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: Could you have a look at the locking on the braking into turn 5? Do I have front locking there? Okay, we have
Engineer: a
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: look. Have a look at what's happening on the entry there. Okay, I understand.
Engineer: So basically, first sector you are extremely good. Last sector you are in the ballpark, can be improved. And then we are having a look to the second sector.
Romain GROSJEAN: OK, guys, check the engine response please. I think we went the other way now.
Engineer: Which means too much pushing? Pushing, yeah. OK, so make a torque change anyway to try and compensate it.
Nico HULKENBERG: God damn it! Massive traffic into 6-0 Copy
Engineer: that
Engineer: I
Pierre GASLY: didn't do that, I forgot traffic. F***ing
Engineer: sick. Yeah, Pierre Grosjean pushing behind. Grosjean pushing behind.
Pierre GASLY: Not anymore.
Engineer: I don't know what's going on. It's very, very strange. I couldn't slow down the car at all, so I don't know. This run is very, very weird.
