Monaco Grand Prix 2019: Practice 1 team radio
26 radio messages were recorded during practice 1 at the Monaco Grand Prix 2019, across 10 drivers. 24 of them have a transcript; the rest are audio only. George RUSSELL had the most, with 7.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: And the constant speed position 3, 140 kph. Too late.
George RUSSELL: I'm going to go for another sort of semi-cold warm-up, the tires are very cold. Yeah, I'll go.
Engineer: We're
George RUSSELL: lacking quite a lot of rear support, no confidence.
Engineer: I
George RUSSELL: think I'm snatching up the entire front end of brake on farm.
Engineer: surface temp still at the bottom of the window at the rear not entering the window at the front
George RUSSELL: We can come down on air with balance for 12, 13, 14.
Alexander ALBON: It's okay. Just getting used to it. I'm not a big fan of us changing the front pads and not the rear because very sharp on the brakes in the front
Engineer: But
Alexander ALBON: they're getting better now
Nico HULKENBERG: Squared bumpy exit of turn 7, I think the front wing is scrubbing the ground each time, there's sparks coming out of it.
Engineer: Danny behind is on cool down as well, same again with the tyres, focus on keeping the front up and cooling down the rear, easy on exit
Daniil KVYAT: Okay, I need the temperature in the tires, so either he goes faster or he lets me by, I think.
Daniel RICCIARDO: I'm getting some strange wheels spin out of the chicane and that's getting worse.
Engineer: OK, that one put you P2, again purple sector 3, Hamilton P1 on a 12.9, I think his first sector is 7 tenths quicker than ours. Second sector is 1 tenth down on Hamilton, and your third sector is 2 tenths quicker.
Daniil KVYAT: Please the rating guys on the K is super annoying. Please do something about it
Engineer: Okay, track speed should be 1.1 seconds quicker now.
George RUSSELL: I just hit the wall, I'll just do a slow lap now to see if it's okay
Engineer: Bit
George RUSSELL: of a relatively big hit.
Engineer: It's OK from our side currently.
George RUSSELL: Is it possible for you to see rear toes or anything?
Engineer: Negative. That's down to your steering wheel.
George RUSSELL: I'm struggling a bit. Mitrovic
Engineer: to
George RUSSELL: F12 with the rear.
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: McLaren again.
Engineer: Copy Antonio.
Audio only, no transcript available for this message.
Engineer: I've got a massive flat spot And is the flat spot too much to drive on?
Lando NORRIS: Yeah it's pretty bad
Engineer: Ok understood Lando, we will box this lap, please box this lap
Engineer: I'm
Lance STROLL: personally the sixth time in the prime.
Audio only, no transcript available for this message.
Lewis HAMILTON: I don't see the deadline
Engineer: Okay, so should be time for at least six potentially seven laps this run before the checkered flag
Engineer: Do not over push, entry turn 7 and 8, focus, exit turn 8.
Engineer: Think we can carry a bit more speed at turn 15 entry turn 15
Alexander ALBON: This is also a big limitation for me, this braking thing. Every time you tell me to go plus one the car just goes worse and worse. Feeling like I don't have any bite on the initial brake pressure.
Engineer: The
Alexander ALBON: car doesn't stop as well and then I get a bigger balance shift through the corner I feel like.
