Monaco Grand Prix 2021: Race team radio
148 radio messages were recorded during race at the Monaco Grand Prix 2021, across 20 drivers. Lewis HAMILTON had the most, with 18.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: And quick radio check, Giovinazzi 7 in front, you can push
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, I'll go to the radio
Engineer: Copy
Charles LECLERC: No, no,
Engineer: no, no, the
Charles LECLERC: gap box guys
Engineer: So we've got Leclerc going slowly at turn 12.
Engineer: Okay, so we are boxing this lap, boxing this lap for a drive-through. Are you happy with the front wing?
Fernando ALONSO: Yep, happy.
Engineer: Okay, understood.
Engineer: Ok Daniel, we've boxed this lap. How's the flat?
Daniel RICCIARDO: Ok, box confirmed. Yep. I think it's a little high, but I'll stay out.
Engineer: Copy that. Don't break traction. Drive straight through.
Engineer: Okay mate, how is the car balance? How is the car balance?
Lando NORRIS: Yeah, pretty decent. I'm happy with it.
Engineer: Copy that.
Engineer: Any initial feedback, Yuki?
Yuki TSUNODA: I think it's quite good, I think. Not too much understeer. The car feels neutral, so I think it's good. It's not too bad.
Engineer: Copy, see you there.
Yuki TSUNODA: Maybe I want to have a little bit more support in the high speed, medium speed corner, generally, especially from entry to exit.
Engineer: All okay with the car, question?
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, all okay from my side, just overbalanced.
Engineer: 30 minutes to go Pit lane closed Charles still in the garage. So either he is not starting the race or from the pit lane
Engineer: Filippo, minus 4 turns, minus 4 turns, minus 4.
Lewis HAMILTON: Radio check.
Engineer: Radio is loud and clear Lewis. So track temp is currently 41 degrees, 41. So about minus 6 compared to where we were FP2 on the medium.
Engineer: Copy. The car is pointing a tiny bit too much to the inside, can we just turn it, not much, but a little bit, the nose to the left? Copy that.
Engineer: OK, make sure pit limiter is on, and you are in offset minus 2 please. Yeah. OK, so we are in mode 12. We try to keep as much temperature as we can, and we go up the gears under the tunnel. There was no issue with the cars two years ago. It will be click over the edge, three times the warming. Target, base minus 1. We are happy with EB3, right? Torque looks good in the lap to grid, and that will help us with rotation in the first couple of laps. Copy. I will remind you for mode 5. And back to offset forward. And as soon as you can, we start saving a bit of tyres. As soon as you can, we save a bit of tyres. Draw a bit of face towards the end of tint. And also do some liftoff. OK, can you confirm my front tyre is on the yellow line now? So when I go down. It is slightly in front of it. Slightly in front of the yellow line. Copy.
Engineer: We fire up as usual, 1 minute 30, will be turbo engagement in automatic, and then we go by point after that. Yeah,
Carlos SAINZ: and 4
Engineer: reds for the start, K21, race mode.
Engineer: Switches should all be set, so now we've just got to wait for a little bit. Alright, just under five minutes to go. So the only thing we need to do on our side once the car's fired up in about three and a half minutes time is just turn the pit limiter on, everything else is set. A reminder of your procedures, there is no switch changes to be made apart from the pit limiter off once you pass the control line and we'll need recharge off before you do the burnouts and those are, as we discussed earlier, no change to that procedure. I'll give you a last car on the grid reminder and unless there are any issues on track or any messages from radio, that will be the only thing you hear from it.
Engineer: Ok Daniel, tyre information. Ocon ahead is on a soft tyre. Other soft starters are Mazepin and Schumacher. Medium starters are yourself, Raikkonen, Russell, Alonso and Latifi. So Stroll and Tsunoda run hard.
Pierre GASLY: Hard drivability in this mod is so bad
Engineer: Mode 10. So break bias offset max and display 8 when you can.
Engineer: Good job. Tire deg one. Tire deg one when you can.
Engineer: You can use the Vatec, battery is very full, press and hold when you need
Engineer: You're P11. You're the first of the non-soft runners.
Engineer: So it's gone off in grid order. Max and P1 has done a 17.4. Vettel in front at 0.8 seconds, Giovinazzi behind at 0.8. And DRS is enabled.
Engineer: Okay, this is P13. Car ahead is Reichenen, car behind Alonso.
Engineer: Okay my balance is going to start moving forwards now.
Engineer: So consider going up on torque if the balance is a bit loose and white button for turn 10.
Engineer: Verstappen doing 16.9
Engineer: Ok, the lift-off is helping us. Keep doing the same. This is good for us.
George RUSSELL: Ricciardo and Alonso are very slow ahead can't do anything
Lance STROLL: I'm kind of pushing right now, should I clunk the tires, breathe a little bit, feel the rears are dropping?
Engineer: Yes just watch the surface temperature surface
George RUSSELL: Ricciardo and Alonso are very slow ahead, can't do anything
Engineer: Okay, Daniel. So the lead cars are doing 117.0. Vettel P7 doing 117.9.
Engineer: Sebastian, just an idea on how much management you're doing and how the tyres are doing? The
Sebastian VETTEL: tyres are good. I'm managing quite a lot. Probably a second if I go all out or more.
Engineer: How's the balance Max?
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, all okay
Engineer: Brakes are still hot on the front, but it's manageable for now.
George RUSSELL: I can't do any more than I'm doing.
Engineer: Very good Esteban, keep it up. Safety car windows are closed. Closed.
George RUSSELL: PU doesn't feel 100%, poor power out of the last corner, bad shift through the tunnel.
Engineer: Vettel's last lap was a 17.4, your last lap a 17.4, gap's constant, 2.5 seconds.
Engineer: Yes
Lewis HAMILTON: guys, that's
Engineer: it,
Lewis HAMILTON: slow ahead.
Engineer: Okay, copy.
Nicholas LATIFI: How are the brake temps? Brakes are looking good.
Engineer: Focus on the slip management slip
Engineer: So we want to push on as much as we can to clear right and he's currently about seven seconds inside our pit window But you're one and a half seconds a lap faster. Perez is now pushing hard. He's 0.7 behind The tires look good from our side look good
Sebastian VETTEL: No rush. No rush to pit here
Engineer: The
Nikita MAZEPIN: tires are starting to go on the rear as well.
Engineer: Okay, just a reminder watch the front left in five seven and eight
Sergio PEREZ: Yeah, f**k these, mate. We're in the state of...
Engineer: Yeah, apply the pressure. Let's make this...
Engineer: And show us how much more pace you got
Engineer: Lewis if you can give us a balance check, balance check.
Lewis HAMILTON: Plus one hull.
Engineer: OK, copy.
Engineer: Ok Lando, how's the pace and how are the tyres?
Lando NORRIS: Yeah, R3 almost, but I don't know, Pace 3 or Pace 4.
Max VERSTAPPEN: For these stars, I'm happy.
Engineer: Understood, thank you.
Engineer: We think you may need to attack Räikkönen to avoid being dragged out of the race.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Understood. I'll try close up. Okay, so tyres are taking a hit at this pace.
Engineer: Understood. I think we need this pace, Daniel. We need this pace.
Engineer: Okay Lando, that's our second strike for turn 10, so we have a black and white flag. No more mistakes.
Engineer: Max, we're happy with this pace at the moment. 15.9, 16.0. Bottas at 2.2.
Engineer: Just another aerobalance check when you can I
Sebastian VETTEL: would go up one quarter or half
Engineer: Copy that copy
Engineer: Where do you need help to go quicker? Where could we help the understeer?
Carlos SAINZ: This boat is struggling.
Engineer: Looks like, yeah. Yeah,
Carlos SAINZ: I'm getting very close.
Engineer: You can try Diff 11, Diff 11, and if you still want more, if you still want more, you can go to EB5, if you want more.
Mick SCHUMACHER: Let's try this test.
Carlos SAINZ: I feel a bit deterred here, but I have more pace.
Engineer: Okay, this is all going to start happening pretty soon. I think gaps are starting to appear
Engineer: And remember, no mistakes turn 10.
Sergio PEREZ: Out of turn 1, when I pick up the power, there seems to be a strange noise.
Engineer: I'm
Sergio PEREZ: quite a bit of a lag.
Engineer: Yeah, at this stage, we're just looking to have the tyre life when we need it. Just remember you're lifting coast, lifting coast into Turn 10, Turn 1.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, I'm having quite a good, like, strong front end in the car, so let's keep that in.
Engineer: Understood.
Engineer: Gap to Bottas, 4.5, this is a good buffer at the moment Max, nice job, we have blue flags for Schumacher ahead, blue flags.
Engineer: You know
Valtteri BOTTAS: that there's not that much left in time.
Engineer: And Lando, what are your thoughts on plan A versus plan B? We think possibly plan B until target lap.
Lando NORRIS: Yeah, the pace compared to the others still seems okay, but I feel like I'm struggling a lot. If it's because of the graining, then I guess whatever Hiroshi thinks.
Engineer: Okay Lando, not really graining, more just wear, similar to Sainz in front.
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, this guy is too slow for us, but anyway.
Engineer: Copy.
Engineer: OK Lewis, it won't be long now, so if we just close that gap up, 1.3 at the moment.
Engineer: Better again, better again. Other cars are now matching the pace of Giovinazzi. He's on your pit window, Giovinazzi on your pit window. Keep this up. Turn three is working well. Keep doing a turn three.
Engineer: it's
Lando NORRIS: getting a bit more difficult to drive okay
Engineer: mate understood i'll
Lando NORRIS: keep going i'll just take it easy
Engineer: Please repeat
Engineer: Lando, Hamilton's pitted, he's gone hard tyre, we think the same.
Lando NORRIS: Yeah, I'm happy with that.
Engineer: Box box box
Engineer: OK, Bottas and Sainz are pitting this lap, we've got plenty of margin. Start to ramp up the pace a bit.
Lewis HAMILTON: How am I still behind him, man? Come on.
Engineer: Slow stop for Bottas. Bottas no threat. He's still in the pit lane.
Lewis HAMILTON: What is this happening, guys? It's too nice.
Engineer: Valtteri is out of the race
Max VERSTAPPEN: Vibrations are picking up a little, but we just keep going until we are losing too much time.
Engineer: And box, Carlos, box, box for alt.
Carlos SAINZ: One second, wait, are
Engineer: you
Carlos SAINZ: sure?
Engineer: Box now, box now, we are sure, it's good.
Lewis HAMILTON: I don't understand guys
Engineer: I
Lewis HAMILTON: saved the tyres to go longer Maybe stop before everyone
Esteban OCON: I'm easy on tires at the moment Tom
Engineer: Keep pushing box box opposite to Giovinazzi box box opposite to Giovinazzi
Engineer: Box and pit confirm, Max. Box, pit confirm.
Engineer: Lewis, we're under threat of losing position to Perez as well, I'm sorry about that
Lewis HAMILTON: And Luff is in to Perez!
Engineer: Yeah, he is yet to stop, currently doing 14.6
Engineer: Gaps assigned 10 seconds 10 seconds. Let's bring these tires in gently
Engineer: Maximum push now Antonio, maximum push.
Engineer: Okay, first stint was 34 laps. We're looking for 44 this stint, Max, 44.
Engineer: Okay, Checo, good job. Currently sitting P4. We've got the jump on Vettel, Gasly and Hamilton.
Lewis HAMILTON: So press is up ahead.
Engineer: A-firm currently press P4.
Engineer: Daniel, I missed your radio message at the start-finish line.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Yeah, sorry. Just both axles. If I push on one, I kill the other, but this is all it's got at the moment.
Engineer: Daniel, do you want to try the hard? Should we try the hard if this tyre's gone?
Daniel RICCIARDO: Yeah, I can't see it getting better, so I think I'm just going to continue as is. I'm happy to try the hard.
Engineer: Copy. So we've boxed this lap. Do you have an ATSI close behind now? Box this lap.
Engineer: beautiful right let's make this out that camp white line reminder
Engineer: The wear from the first inset was excellent, Max.
Engineer: And I'm going to bore you to death on this one. No mistakes turn 10. That would **** our race. We're currently P3.
Engineer: Press on hold of attack now, please press on hold of attack now
Carlos SAINZ: The panels are not flashing. They need to flash the panels for the drivers to see a blue flag.
Engineer: Copy, understood. We are reporting it.
Engineer: Strat 10 is good. Let's use Strat 10 to get Alonso back in the safety car window. You're the quickest car on track. Alonso 117.2.
Engineer: Tire life to the end will be good.
Engineer: Still the fastest car, still half a second quicker than Verstappen, I like it.
Engineer: Ok Kimi, box, box, box, we go for hard, front wing, minus one, happy, and box, box. Ok. Ok.
Fernando ALONSO: I have no much tyres left, I think.
Engineer: OK, understood.
Engineer: so lance at the moment we come out p10 the pit window is clear at the moment so we're extending we're trying to overcut our con and g of a nazi
Lance STROLL: don't talk to me in the corners
Fernando ALONSO: Yeah, good stop guys, well done. I was expecting the hard tyre, but ok.
Engineer: Keep pushing, Yuki. The pace is quite good. Keep pushing.
Lewis HAMILTON: Where is everyone in front of Agassi?
Engineer: He
Lewis HAMILTON: is so slow.
Engineer: Vettel 4.2 ahead of him.
Engineer: Ocon looks to be struggling ahead with a fairly new medium. There could still be an opportunity towards the end of the race.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Yep, understood. The hard's definitely better. Just, obviously, just trying to figure out where I'm going at the moment.
Engineer: Daniel, shortly you'll get blue flags for Lando. We want to make his life as easy as possible, obviously Lando currently P3. Yep, just let me know where, I'll
Daniel RICCIARDO: let him go.
Engineer: No need till blue flags, no need till blue flags.
Engineer: Okay, we have blue flags for Lando. We have blue flags for Lando. Let him go. Okay, well done buddy He may present an opportunity with Raikkonen though. He may present an opportunity for you
Engineer: OK, Max, just checking in, all OK?
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, all OK.
Engineer: Understood. Gap behind consistent, it's currently 3.2.
Engineer: Copy that. Watch understeer at turn 5. Use tools to help there. Understeer at 5. 16-0 still the target.
Engineer: Update on tyres please, update on tyres. OK, all good.
Engineer: One purple for sector. Good job.
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, let's try and put some pressure. Who knows?
Engineer: Understood. Head down.
Lando NORRIS: Yeah, I'm just struggling, man.
Engineer: The
Lando NORRIS: car is over on its tires.
Lando NORRIS: He's struggling man, the car is over on his tires.
Engineer: So let's build our fuel margin now. Norris is starting to struggle, but we want to make sure we've got the fuel to fight him at the end.
Engineer: Ok, Ocon's pace is 1.167. He is struggling. There could still be chances at the end.
Engineer: And suggestion brake shape plus one to protect for graining. Brake shape plus one.
Engineer: Lots of drivers starting to make mistakes, so this is full concentration mode.
Engineer: I
Nikita MAZEPIN: cannot do it, man. You are having a f***ing laugh. I'm in Monaco.
Engineer: Ok, Ocon is still slow ahead. Raikkonen's nearly caught him. Keep with Perez, they'll get blue flags at the end.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Stick with Perez, you will get a chance.
Engineer: Stroll is under investigation for crossing the white line and that would put him inside your pit window
Mick SCHUMACHER: Will we switch back now?
Engineer: We're gonna hold position to the end of the race Mick. We're gonna hold position to the end of the race
Lando NORRIS: No combos anymore please
Carlos SAINZ: Feels a bit better than running now. This is my little coming back up.
Engineer: Understood.
Engineer: Push flat out, you keep push flat out
Engineer: Lewis, we've had track limits at turn 10 last lap. In the current race situation, we have a free pit window behind. Stroll about three seconds outside of that.
Lewis HAMILTON: Well, what's
Engineer: your
Lewis HAMILTON: plan?
Engineer: Nothing at the moment, we're just keeping you updated, we're going to have a look in a few laps time
Lewis HAMILTON: Don't miss the opportunity to get a faster start because I need that point I've already lost the time today, there's hardly anything left in these damn tyres
Engineer: Now we're going to have Verstappen's car behind, but we don't need to do the fastest lap immediately. So you're going to have to do it immediately? You don't have to do it immediately, do not have to do it immediately.
Sergio PEREZ: What is the fastest lap at the moment?
Engineer: Hamilton has just pitted for a set of softs and done a 12.9. Fastest lap isn't on.
Lewis HAMILTON: And?
Engineer: Who's quick? Have
Lewis HAMILTON: I got a time
Engineer: or not? Affirm, you have time, 12.9
Lewis HAMILTON: Say what?
Engineer: You are the fastest man on track OK,
Lewis HAMILTON: what's
Engineer: the
Lewis HAMILTON: goal now? Just...
Engineer: We'll get through this back marker traffic, and then we can go for another fastest lap attempt if the tyres have it in it We can give you a PU mode for that
Engineer: Use Hamilton to overtake Latifi.
Engineer: Signs are stroking this home as well now.
Engineer: No more cut, turn 10-11, otherwise we get a penalty.
Engineer: And this is the last lap, and Lando, if you can do fuel saving for free, do it please, no risk.
Engineer: Max, that is a fabulous drive, mate, and you're a Monaco Grand Prix winner. Fantastic.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yes. Nice race. Well done. I think we managed that really well, guys. I'm super happy.
Engineer: Max Verstappen, you're a Monaco Grand Prix winner. That was brilliant. That was your afternoon. Big Adrian's coming up to get the trophy with you. Well done.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, thanks, Christian. I think perfect tire life as well, so super happy with this win.
Engineer: That was masterclass, and you're leading the World Championship. Well done, mate.
Engineer: MP2 Carlos, P2, now bad, in Monaco, podium, first podium we've already had, well done.
Carlos SAINZ: Yes, grazie, grazie tutti, thank you everyone. I know it's a bit of
Engineer: a
Carlos SAINZ: difficult day for everyone, but you need to be proud of the car and the progress we are making. We will have time to make poles and win races in the future, take pride from the steps of the car. We had a car to win it this weekend, thank you.
Engineer: Ok Luce, that's P7, that's been a tough day mate, sorry about that, been a bit of a **** weekend all round, but yeah we'll come back stronger, just need to do an autopsy this one and learn.
Sebastian VETTEL: Yes boys! Ring-a-ding-a-ding! Tough race, but well managed. Nice one, nice overcut. Car was great this afternoon, thank you. Finally some points in the bag! Finally some points, thank you.
Engineer: Well done mate, well done. So... Yes!
Sebastian VETTEL: Big points! Great job guys, thank you.
Sergio PEREZ: Great drive, Checo. Great drive. P4. Well done to the team for Max. Good job, guys.
Engineer: Let's keep it up. Your time will come, Sergio. Don't you worry. Keep doing what you're doing. We'll get there on Saturdays and then Sundays we'll take care of themselves. Well done, mate. Thank you, mate.
Sergio PEREZ: Enjoy the day. Well deserved, team. Congratulations to everyone.
Lando NORRIS: Yes mate, yes mate, P3, P3, Strat 5, Strat 5, no full throttle, save fuel as much as possible, amazing, P3 in Monaco, what a job. Awesome, Monaco baby, Monaco podium. Monaco podium.
Engineer: Nice
Lando NORRIS: job everyone, awesome, we deserve this one, awesome job everyone, thank you. Absolutely amazing, awesome job, the whole weekend. Vamos, yeah, man, get in, well done mate, congratulations, vamos, yes. Great job man, great job, congratulations, well done, thank you very much mate, what a week, what a week, well done.
Engineer: Cheers
Lando NORRIS: everyone, we're getting there, keep it up everyone, yeah, another podium, there's two this year, we still want more, but we still got to keep improving guys, so let's keep up the hard work, but thanks for everything so far. Yes mate, still a long way to go this year. Plenty more to come. My hope.
Pierre GASLY: Ok P6 Pierre, I know you will be very frustrated with this one, we had a terrible outlap on the hard, we will look at it, we will look at it. Anyway you've done a good job, so let's focus on the positives of today please, and we'll look at the problems we had. Yeah I mean, we can't be disappointed with P6, but I don't know, yeah, quite disappointed but... Yeah I understand, I am as well, we've done the right calls, I think we've done the right calls, it's just the hard outlap on the first couple of push was a big struggle for us, so we'll look at that for the next race.
Engineer: Yeah,
Pierre GASLY: yeah I'm still happy we scored big points, and we'll continue to score points every race, I think we are doing a good job with the car we have, but yeah we need to look at perfection. And really focus on the details, really focus on the details, because that's how we're going to beat them in the championship, and we should have finished ahead of them. Anyway, still some good points, and yeah, thanks, thank you for this weekend.
Engineer: Shame about the fuel pressure Mick, you had good pace. Verstappen won the race and then Sainz and then Norris.
Mick SCHUMACHER: Yeah, I mean, we couldn't do anything about it could we? It's alright. Definitely thank you for a great car, it was fun. Thank you for a good pit stop too. On to the next one guys, looking forward to it.
Engineer: Yep, let's keep going. There was no safety cars or anything so nothing really interesting happened anyway. Anyway, good experience for you.
Engineer: P8 Lance, great drive mate, well done, good job. Pick up on the tyres as much as you can.
Lance STROLL: Good job guys, that turned out to be a great strategy.
Nikita MAZEPIN: I'm
Engineer: gonna
Nikita MAZEPIN: copy that. Good job guys, very good improvement from Barcelona, very encouraging. Many places I can improve but we're getting somewhere I think. It's been the hardest thing I had to do in a race car in my life so sorry for the quietness.
Engineer: Not a problem mate, I understand you're pretty busy out there. Good job on your side, really clean weekend we can build on this.
Engineer: Alright, well fought at the end, that was not easy, I know, well done, really well done, so that's P9 for us, seemed like a lot of hard work, but well done, you earned that.
Esteban OCON: Yeah, good job guys, good call on the pit stop, bit tricky that last in, but yeah, good points, that's what matters. Yeah,
Engineer: solid result, good things to take away from it as well.
Engineer: Good job, Antonio. First point of the year. Well deserved. Good job.
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: Yeah, that's
Engineer: what
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: I got. I think today was supposed to achieve a better result, but still good. First point of the year. So congrats. All the bad luck. Finally, we got the first one.
Engineer: Ok Kimi, that's the checkered flag, well done, I think it's the best we could do today, you did a good race Yeah,
Kimi RAIKKONEN: one thing, again, the f***ing drink pipe came loose on the formation lap And it's been behind my back the whole race, that f***ing filter, so I don't know how it's so difficult to put it connected correctly
Engineer: Ok, copy that, I will have a chat with the guys, see what happens
Engineer: Checkered flag, remember it's late in the straight And checkered flag. That's P15, P15 That's good job, good job mate. Yeah, copy. Remember to pick up proper
Nicholas LATIFI: Copy Yeah, I guess that's how the races go here Anyways, first Monaco Grand Prix Go in please,
Engineer: go in please mate. That
Nicholas LATIFI: was a tough one for sure Yeah, copy I'm sure it was. Right, yeah, good job guys
Engineer: Thank you, that was a good race, good management of your tyres all the way Good management of your brakes as well, good job mate
Nicholas LATIFI: Copy, yeah It's okay, we could get that point back later this season
Engineer: Okay Daniel, that's the chequered flag. Finished P12 I'm afraid. Can we have strat 5 please? Strat 5?
Daniel RICCIARDO: Yep, yeah I understood. Obviously a bit of a weekend to forget but thanks for hanging in there. I appreciate it.
Engineer: Yeah tough weekend. Your pace, you'll see when you look at the race choice, your pace when we put on the hard was stellar. We just need to figure out what was going on with the C4 tyre because I think on the hard our pace was up with the top cars again.
Daniel RICCIARDO: I'll have to watch the start again but obviously I lost out there so sorry for that.
Engineer: We'll come back in back who's stronger mate. I think we understand everything. We just need to figure out the C4 tyre here but otherwise we'll come back in back who's stronger. I'm sure of it.
Daniel RICCIARDO: I think I heard Lando third so well done to car four.
Engineer: Yeah that's correct. They're all obviously pretty happy.
Engineer: Let's check a flag, P14. Let's have a slow in lap, nice and slow on the in lap.
George RUSSELL: Very tough race at first, it was not pleasurable to drive at all, really difficult. After the pit stop the car felt really good and then obviously once we start experiencing blue flags it was a downward spiral.
Engineer: OK, so that will be checkered flag, scenario 12, scenario 12.
Fernando ALONSO: OK,
Engineer: the
Fernando ALONSO: luck will come before or later to us because, yeah, Portugal, Barcelona, people in front, they finish all of them, and here... Yeah,
Engineer: copy that, mate. It's been a tough weekend, but you managed to race very well. Not an easy situation, that was.
Fernando ALONSO: Yeah, good P-stop, guys. What was the P-stop time?
Engineer: So that was a 2.2 for you, 2.1 for Esteban, so both very good stops. So Esteban finished P9, for info.
Fernando ALONSO: Yeah, well done, guys, on the P-stops. It felt amazing. So, yeah, let's see in Baku.
