Hungarian Grand Prix 2024: Practice 3 team radio
45 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the Hungarian Grand Prix 2024, across 16 drivers. 43 of them have a transcript; the rest are audio only. Lando NORRIS had the most, with 6.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: I'm expecting Joe to pit here, but don't take any risk.
Sergio PEREZ: Yeah Generally, generally happy I think we we picked up some front end The apex of the long speed
Sergio PEREZ: Interestability was a little bit harder into five.
Engineer: Okay, if you'd like a more aggressive toggle for turn two, let me know
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, let's try it
Engineer: And Lado, this is a radio check from turn 12 all the way through, we are boxing this lap, boxing this lap, so just keeping up the radio check round turn 13, as you approach pit lane entrance, and I can't think of anything better to say.
Lando NORRIS: Beautiful, all good.
Engineer: Oscar be in his spot so pull in front of him in front of your garage
Max VERSTAPPEN: It's just the middle sector in some corners I'm understeering a bit much, but at the same time I do have a massive amount of rear grip, you know, so I don't know if I really should take more front flaps.
Engineer: Just an initial heads up, Max, how's ride under braking?
Max VERSTAPPEN: It's all good.
Engineer: Understood, thank you.
Engineer: How was the flap setting?
Max VERSTAPPEN: This was a bit better. I mean, I was rolling at the time, which helped, but it's better now at high speed.
Esteban OCON: Yeah, it's so far that better yesterday.
Engineer: Okay interesting. All right
Engineer: Understood. We see rear locking is a lot better than yesterday. We'd be happy to go rearwards on brake bias if you like, for a bit more efficiency.
Lance STROLL: The right mirror is a bit messed up. Just fix it later.
Engineer: The
George RUSSELL: grip felt like it was just getting better and better.
Engineer: Joe at three seconds on a lap. Two seconds to Joe. There's five behind him to Perez.
Engineer: We're happy to do a start from the box, so we can come and sit in the box and then do a start from there. Yeah,
Nico HULKENBERG: it's not as good for me, but we can maybe do a start at the end of this run,
Engineer: no?
Nico HULKENBERG: We
Engineer: can absolutely do a
Nico HULKENBERG: start at the end, yep, yep, no problem. So just come
Engineer: and stop in the box.
ZHOU Guanyu: So why was it there to be on the edge both axles?
Engineer: And also 4, but I think it was affected by traffic, confirm?
ZHOU Guanyu: Yeah, it's on 4, yeah.
Pierre GASLY: I don't know what's happened, but
Engineer: there's something wrong with the front brakes.
Engineer: We recommend forward brake balance for turn six.
Engineer: Any thoughts on a further front wing adjustment Kev? I
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: think for new tyres, plus 0.3
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: I think for the last one it's not going to be a good lap anyway, so I'm thinking about just giving it a go with another 0.4.
Engineer: Another suggestion is that you took a little bit too much curve maybe at 6 and it cost a little bit of time at 7 on that last lap.
ZHOU Guanyu: My diet is not great after that one for today, so I've got a bit of a taggy on them.
Engineer: Max, can you sync 8th gear to turn 12 please?
Engineer: And in terms of outlaps, you did well. You can back off a bit more in terms of 13.
Yuki TSUNODA: I want to test one thing in the chicane, could you please keep an eye on lap time to compare it with my best lap?
Engineer: Lance, do you think there's anything left in this tyre?
Lance STROLL: Yeah, all I want to do on Mars is for the braking.
Engineer: Lando, what would you think about Flap?
Lando NORRIS: I don't know, I'm reasonably happy I think.
Engineer: Should we use this next as a chance to try some more?
Lando NORRIS: uh sure okay
Engineer: so why don't we suggest plus two would you be happy yeah okay
Engineer: Barcelona breaking, turn 5, turn 14. Verstappen just left turn 2.
Engineer: Any flap adjust Niko maybe on the first lap you would take more but maybe second push not worth it
Nico HULKENBERG: Yeah, not really no
Engineer: Okay, we'll leave it
Nico HULKENBERG: Bottoming in turn three is starting to be quite a bit excessive really
Engineer: Understood we'll review it
George RUSSELL: Tires are very hot
Yuki TSUNODA: The gear shocking was quite a lot in Exit 1.
Yuki TSUNODA: They felt like the gear was not synced, but it was synced. Something wrong.
Engineer: Copy. We see the data. We have a look.
Audio only, no transcript available for this message.
Engineer: Obviously it's not going to be as good as the previous one, but we try to learn as much as we can.

Engineer: Do you need more support entry turn two? Yeah, it's still a bit up the edge of the ramp. Watch for Sargent. Sargent pushing now, three seconds.
ZHOU Guanyu: There's some cut-off on the engine XF-10-2, half cut-off.
Engineer: So just try and get your tyres in the right window, obviously with that disruption it's not quite as we planned now.
Engineer: Stay in gear, stay in gear. Slow in, slow in.
Engineer: stop on the marks hold brake pressure and we can just do a standard launch we don't need to lay rubber
Lance STROLL: No, he's not opening a lap. He's doing whatever he's doing, we have to go around again.
Engineer: No, we've got no time, let's try and get what we can on this lap.
Lance STROLL: No man, I didn't start it.
Engineer: Okay, Magnuson will open the lap, so we can't wait Lance, we can't wait if you need. No, he's not opening the lap, he's
Lance STROLL: doing whatever he's doing, we have to go around again.
Engineer: No, we've got no time, so let's try and get what we can on this lap. No man, I
Lance STROLL: didn't start it!
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, turn 6 mid-corner, the rear is very loose, I feel like I need right up
