Austrian Grand Prix 2019: Practice 2 team radio
21 radio messages were recorded during practice 2 at the Austrian Grand Prix 2019, across 12 drivers. Alexander ALBON had the most, with 4.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: Ok Alex, what happened there?
Alexander ALBON: Just zero traction so... I'll try again Ok,
Engineer: understood
Alexander ALBON: Yeah, definitely negative. Felt like no grip on the front tyres at all under braking and also turn 6 is an incredible result.
Engineer: Nah,
Alexander ALBON: but did you see the understeer in 6? Okay, I'll try not to.
Alexander ALBON: So now we have this entry shut up on this, yes it's true, but the delta between entry and wind now is bigger than it's ever been
Engineer: Understood, we will stick to the plan
Lando NORRIS: A lot of rear locking, turn
Engineer: 3, turn 4, anything I should do with toggles Ok understood, Carlos is now the car behind you, 2 seconds back on a timelapse
Nico HULKENBERG: What is the limiter at 60?
Engineer: It's not correct if it is don't know sorry
Engineer: Ok, try one more lap,
Daniil KVYAT: but what we did to the car, something is wrong, it's no grip at all mechanically, I'm just sliding everywhere, turn 3, turn 1 last lap was quite good, but I have sharp entries to high speed, very sharp and neutral balance all the way to the high speed, so it wasn't very helpful.
Lando NORRIS: What happened in turn 1 then, was it just wind or something?
Engineer: Standby, JAWS just checking. And Lando, the only thing we can see is a bit more tailwinds through there. And if you want it, suggest Silver D5, Silver D5.
Engineer: Charge on, charge on. Do you need to flap adjust? Your light timer? Yes.
Alexander ALBON: Well, it's okay, we'll keep going, because the industry is massive.
Engineer: Kevin, are you okay to go up to high fuel, or do you want to try and run again on these used tires?
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: Yeah, not ideal to go high fuel immediately. I don't know.
Engineer: Yeah, for now we'll stay... It looks like it will clear really quickly. Yeah, there's some debris, but yeah, okay, we'll monitor it, we'll stay low for now, we'll just stay ready. Okay, so you're box now, box.
Engineer: Oh, big crash, big crash, red flag, red flag. Follow the delta and remember to not overtake. Box.
George RUSSELL: There's
Engineer: a
George RUSSELL: bit of gravel on the exit of turn six between turn six and seven if they can just sweep it while it's red
Valtteri BOTTAS: Racing point class is nearly cresting to me, sir.
Engineer: Has made any contact.
Engineer: ...he's on a time-lapse...
Nico HULKENBERG: ...he didn't
Engineer: see
Nico HULKENBERG: me there, he was online, I'm backing off...
Daniil KVYAT: I went wide
Engineer: Volkerberg is pushing behind Charge on, charge on I
Daniil KVYAT: will take another one if possible
Engineer: Yes, we can
Engineer: Front
Romain GROSJEAN: left
Engineer: Understood Well
Romain GROSJEAN: actually all over the place brother Yeah, all over the place Don't know how long we can carry on
Engineer: Carlos, are you happy with the front wing, are you happy with the front wing?
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, more or less, it depends.
Engineer: Next tyre is hard, suggest to box this lap, suggest to box this lap.
Engineer: If I could get the tyres pulled, I'll try again. Hamilton, high fuel, two seconds behind you.
Nico HULKENBERG: Is it time to go high fuel or otherwise no point really completing another lap?
Engineer: We just do what we need to do to learn about the car Niko, then we'll do whatever's left at the end.
Nico HULKENBERG: Yeah, I'll do one more lap.
Lance STROLL: Yeah, but regardless of the track, I feel like I'm really slow right now.
Nico HULKENBERG: Got a lot of understeer in the high speed right now.
Engineer: Copy.
Engineer: I
Kimi RAIKKONEN: think we are losing speed on the spread.
Engineer: Copy, we are looking.
