Singapore Grand Prix 2019: Practice 2 team radio
22 radio messages were recorded during practice 2 at the Singapore Grand Prix 2019, across 15 drivers. Carlos SAINZ had the most, with 3.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Engineer: Okay, green light and let's do a stop, please
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: Yeah, the drink is losing a lot of water.
Engineer: Copy Antonio.
Romain GROSJEAN: Stay aware to reduce the brushness of the light, the dash is okay, but the light are very bright
Engineer: I'll come back to you
Engineer: and not urgent multi purple C4 position five please purple C4 position five
Lance STROLL: That's so much traffic Brad
Engineer: Copy that, that's all people who spun or lived in for the yellow flag Should
Lance STROLL: I go around again?
Engineer: So tires look okay. It depends on the on the traffic really Lance
Lance STROLL: Well, they're all behind me now. So yeah, we're okay on
Engineer: battery. So I suggest we go this lap
Engineer: Copy that, check
Sebastian VETTEL: marker button and upshift between 13 and 14 and also 14 and 15 I think it was either 5th to 6th or 6th to 7th for 13 to 14
Engineer: and focus on throttle pickup out of turn five
Engineer: Okay, that's P2. Lewis P1, 40.4. There's 2 tenths to find in sector 1 and 3 tenths in sector 3. Sector 2 is good.
Engineer: Okay, that's another good lap on a used tire. The car behind will be Leclerc, 14 seconds. Carlos, we're now P7. Perez is ahead of us, but he's already run a soft.
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, I'm quite happy with the car, mate. Especially that lap. Less rear grip, but still a decent lap.
Engineer: OK, we'll take the slow lap, target plus 40 on a single slope, still two cars on track, that was a good sector too, that was minus 0.8 relative to your first run, so target plus 40, 4-0, dropping rear.
Max VERSTAPPEN: My last sector got compromised quite a bit.
Engineer: Yep, that's fine. Remember what we discussed.
Nico HULKENBERG: I mean it felt okay, obviously quite a shock in grip level, so it takes a bit of readjusting But generally I was not unhappy with that lap
Charles LECLERC: Yeah, the traffic is horrendous. Copy, understood. You can do another charge lap if you want and then a push. They need to get out the way though.
Engineer: I
Charles LECLERC: don't know, it's dangerous like this.
Engineer: Ok Carlos, you know what we want to achieve with this tyre, so set your status accordingly. A bit of brake warm up if you can.
Engineer: Take care as it may be hot but check the drinks check the drinks
Engineer: The ref lap is 47.3 from the high fuel quality lap, so 47.3, that's okay.
Engineer: Kevin, we need lifting coast for brake temps 1, 7, 14, 16. And how is the tire? How is the tire?
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: So far, it's okay.
Engineer: HPP 3, set position 1, increase lift and coast for caliper temps, Lewis 44.8 on the soft.
Engineer: If you want to reset reference lap, it's fail, 12, fail, fail, 1, 2, fail, reference lap, reset.
Engineer: Le Fleur has been in traffic the last couple of laps, his most recent lap was a 46.2 without traffic
Engineer: and tire saving turns one and ten, tire saving one and ten
Engineer: I think I would like to try SOC 12, defence mode.
