Italian Grand Prix 2020: Practice 2 team radio
38 radio messages were recorded during practice 2 at the Italian Grand Prix 2020, across 16 drivers. Alexander ALBON had the most, with 5.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Engineer: And remember, let's get straight into these tyres please. Track is clear, track is clear.
Engineer: I had a bit too much understeer in low speed. Yeah, okay, we'll look at if we can do something there for you.
Engineer: Just think about your pace here, tyres are still probably in the window at the end of that lap so I don't think you need to go too slowly.
Engineer: So front brakes are cool, front brakes are cool, if you can do some warming before turn one that'd be good.
Engineer: And if you've got a feeling for that, we'll box this lap. Keep up the pace on the way in.
Alexander ALBON: What's up with the Delta?
Engineer: Yeah, understood. We understand the issue. That last lap for you was a 22.3. That was half a second gain on the first lap.
Esteban OCON: How's the front wing? I did hit the kerb again.
Engineer: No sign of any damage from numbers but obviously that's not the whole story.
Engineer: We are coming through. You might need to use him to get a turn on the start-finish straight. We don't have any other opportunities.
Engineer: And watch for track limits, turn 11 Track limits, turn 11 We
Charles LECLERC: got the lap cancelled?
Engineer: Yes, that is correct
Charles LECLERC: It's weird that they can't sell the lap, huh? I mean, show me the onboard when I get in, because it didn't feel like I was out of the track, but yeah, just for reference.
Engineer: And it just looks like we didn't have that fully reset, so it probably just needs a little push
Engineer: Slightly slower cool down lap this time please Max. Cool the tyres.
Engineer: Anything we can help you with on balance, Alex, around the lap? Question?
Alexander ALBON: No, it's OK.
Engineer: OK, understood.
George RUSSELL: Should we put this in lap?
Engineer: No, we'll do that on the quali tyre and at the end of high fuel.
George RUSSELL: The light was good, into 10, into 8 sorry.
Engineer: Copy that. Gently on the brakes to 11, calipers are hot.
George RUSSELL: Copy.
Engineer: Okay, so good improvement there. Main lacking is sector 3, 3 tenths there. Sector 1 and sector 2 are good.
Engineer: Nicky, you're okay with that quickflip last round? I can't
Nicholas LATIFI: see which one it is yet, but I'll fix it on the outbound.
Engineer: Just your bottom left.
Engineer: OK Carl, so that's P3. The car looks quite neutral.
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, picked up some extra front there maybe from the setup.
Engineer: Carlos, is the car okay?
Carlos SAINZ: Not sure, I went through quite a lot of gravel.
Engineer: Copy, so we're boxed this lap.
Engineer: Respect the shift point for 7th, turn 6. Even
Nicholas LATIFI: though I'm braking for the corner.
Kimi RAIKKONEN: Our own guy is in front of me, so it's impossible to come to the box.
Engineer: Okay, we'll have a look.
Kimi RAIKKONEN: It's the guy who was standing there.
Engineer: You mean the Marshal?
Kimi RAIKKONEN: Our own, team guy, standing here. Okay. Behind the... the racing point.
Engineer: Okay, copy. We'll have a chat.
Alexander ALBON: We need all migration and the brakes turned on.
George RUSSELL: Something does not really feel right with the ride over these bumps, but please keep an eye on it. About 150-200 metres before braking, turn 1, there's a weird bounce from the car.
Engineer: Are you going to have to let Leclerc and Perez through now?
Max VERSTAPPEN: No, I don't think so. It's fine.
Engineer: Launch map off, launch map off, see if it affects drivability.
Engineer: Yeah, we had lap time deleted at turn 11 last lap Yeah, they need to review the thing. I wasn't out I am 100% positive. I wasn't out Copy that
Engineer: The pace looks competitive, most cars a couple of tenths slower than FP1, so this looks good.
Engineer: I could try exit management turn 5 to help rear tyre temps.
Charles LECLERC: I've got shattering like crazy and then it's going all the speed all over the place.
Pierre GASLY: Something feels a bit odd at the back of the car, it's like bouncing. Okay, we are checking. The wheels are very, very strange.
Daniel RICCIARDO: Yep, they're pretty consistent.
Engineer: A
Daniel RICCIARDO: little bit of deck, both axles.
Engineer: Okay, understood.
George RUSSELL: The understeer field was in 9, but turned 10.
Engineer: Ok Kimi, can you try the overtake button on the pit straight please?
Engineer: Carlos we need one lap in scenario seven with press and hold overtake if you think that you need another lap before you have a go at Grosjean then let's wait a lap no overtake but on this lap otherwise it's scenario seven and five seconds press and hold overtake on start finish
Engineer: It says cool the gas, so I'll cool it a little bit, if that's alright. Yep, that's fine, you've got a 5 second gap to Magnussen behind.
Engineer: OK Esteban, all good with tyre management, just a little bit on the edge with the slips at the exit of Turn 2.
Engineer: There's time to do slow and push. Not sure if the tyre will do it. Thoughts? I've
Lando NORRIS: already lost the race. I mean if you've only got time to do another one then I may as well.
Engineer: Okay, so there is time for slow and then push.
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: I took the flag, I think.
Engineer: No, keep pushing, keep pushing.
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: It was radioed.
Engineer: You can continue, go.
Engineer: OK, mate, I'll look decent from our side.
Daniel RICCIARDO: OK. Yep, felt all right.
