Italian Grand Prix 2024: Practice 1 team radio
28 radio messages were recorded during practice 1 at the Italian Grand Prix 2024, across 16 drivers. Lando NORRIS had the most, with 3.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Every message, in the order it happened
Max VERSTAPPEN: I'm going to flunk face the Ferrari up front, I think the car just... OK,
Engineer: understood, thank you.
Pierre GASLY: I guess you saw it, turn 2. Bouncing.
Engineer: Yep, we can see that.
Engineer: And Kimi, just let me know what you need on flap adjust, if anything.
Kimi ANTONELLI: At the moment I don't really know, because I was super close, I didn't expect to be so close.
Engineer: Yeah, AFEM, understood.
Engineer: And next time-lapse will be Colopinto, who's approaching turn 7. I hope I pronounced that right.
Engineer: You okay? Are you okay? Yeah. Sorry. Kimi, all good. All good, Kimi.
Engineer: OK, so that's Kimi off at turn 11. Is he OK? Stand by. Yes, I think he's OK. Yep, driver OK.
Engineer: Did you find someone you know there?
Daniel RICCIARDO: There was a kid waving, so he got quite excited. That's good.
Lewis HAMILTON: Vibrations, front tires.
Engineer: OK, copy.
Lando NORRIS: And two Lesmos to help entries, it's
Engineer: just
Lando NORRIS: too nervous anyway still.
Charles LECLERC: Yeah, I nearly lost it in turn six.
Engineer: Yeah, we saw.
Charles LECLERC: Car is very tricky to drive
Esteban OCON: Struggling to stop the car, turn 1, couldn't brake really there, the car doesn't decelerate.
Engineer: Understood, we'll have a look at braking efficiency, see if we can help that.
Esteban OCON: Braking turn 1, what do you think we should do?
Engineer: We're just having a look at that, so stand by please.
Alexander ALBON: I basically got this a little bit of instability entry and exits and a bit too much understeer mid-corner and there's a lot of this weird shattering on the front tyre at the apex.
ZHOU Guanyu: For me, I'm struggling with braking rear movement and then the rest is okay
Engineer: Well,
Carlos SAINZ: it's pretty good water.
Engineer: Feedback is we see some poor deceleration and the braking which we'll fix for next session and we were losing in the other corners. What
Charles LECLERC: do you mean the other corners?
Engineer: A tenth in turn 4-5, a tenth in turn 6 and then half a tenth in turn 1-2, an 8-9-10. Well, he made a mistake in 11.
Charles LECLERC: How bad is the deceleration? Because it feels particularly bad. It's poor.
Engineer: Hamilton is avoiding the Turn 8 IPEX curve and is the fastest there
Yuki TSUNODA: It's so hard to drive in high speed
Engineer: Some
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: pretty big vibrations from the brakes also.
Engineer: Copy that.
Engineer: And red button, please. What, you don't want it, or you do? I already did it. If you've done the red button, we're all good. Stand by a second. But now I have to redo it. Just hang on. It's all good.
Sergio PEREZ: Yeah, very difficult final corner, it's really loose on the way to Final corner, I don't know if the wind has picked up But yeah, there is a really good entry stability
Sergio PEREZ: Yeah, the tire is not pulling down.
Engineer: Copy.
Valtteri BOTTAS: Their tires are melting already. Big raining.
Engineer: Understood.
Valtteri BOTTAS: Tires are gone.
Engineer: Yeah, I see that. And we can go back rearwards on brake balance and 1 minute 30 left in the session. Let's try to stay out.
Valtteri BOTTAS: I've got a big flat foot.
Engineer: Lots of vibration. Yeah, let me know if you need to box then. Watch for Joe behind. Joe is in constant pushing.
Valtteri BOTTAS: Yeah, these rear tires are so grained that from the start we are not going to learn anything.
Engineer: Understood.
Engineer: The
Lewis HAMILTON: seat is getting very hot.
Engineer: OK, copy. We'll investigate.
Yuki TSUNODA: And I think I have a brake symmetry, as soon as I brake I think the car starts to go a little bit right.
Engineer: Noted, yeah, we can see the temperature split.
Franco COLAPINTO: Is it just off into the gravel, question? Yeah, just a bit of gravel, but I went very slow.
