Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019: Practice 3 team radio
44 radio messages were recorded during practice 3 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019, across 17 drivers. 43 of them have a transcript; the rest are audio only. Carlos SAINZ had the most, with 10.
These are transcripts of real team radio audio, produced by speech recognition and presented as an archive rather than as edited prose. Radio is clipped and noisy, so wording can be imperfect. Each message is attributed to the driver or their engineer, and the original audio is playable in the archive.

Pierre GASLY: The steering is slightly bent to the right, so right hand side down.
Engineer: So a little bit harder out lap than yesterday, mainly not lifting on the straights.
George RUSSELL: little bit of vibration through the brake pedal and the braking
Carlos SAINZ: Sorry Tom, you said this is the new or the old?
Engineer: This is the baseline front wing, test front wing goes on in the pit stop
Engineer: Carlos' new brakes, so good warm up on brakes and take care of front locking with this battle switch.
Engineer: So cars compared to Lando first part of the lap looks good. We're losing out a bit in turn 13-14 that's about getting the exits and a little bit looks like you're over slowing the car in turn 18
Engineer: OK, and how was the balance?
Daniel RICCIARDO: So, yeah, it was OK, it was on the sharp side, I'd say initial response still sharp, then some understeer across the apex, but generally a bit more feeling compared to yesterday, but I'd probably take a little bit of front wing off.
Engineer: OK, understood.
Alexander ALBON: That's a lot of understeer.
Engineer: Question, would you like more front flap? Question?
Alexander ALBON: We'll see with the tyres. Let's leave it.
Engineer: Copy.
Engineer: Rear tyres on the cool side, so suggest pushing down this straight. No DRS. So we've got reports of understeer turn 1, so consider opening the diff for the start of the lap and yellow button.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Can you test all the still car speed limiter? Can I get that away?
Engineer: Yeah, I'll be done
Lando NORRIS: Yeah, I have no tie times for my friend, so you have to keep me updated on my front tires, I can't see anything
Sebastian VETTEL: Happy to do the practice start now, I locked up for turn 8. Copy.
Engineer: Bottas Pusha
Romain GROSJEAN: I've got a fair bit of vibration on the straight, nothing stopping me going, but...
Engineer: Okay, we will look, we will look.
Engineer: Like to do one more timed lap on this front wing one more timed lap on this front wing.
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah
Max VERSTAPPEN: I don't think my dash is working Nate, it just says plus 999
Engineer: So last sector has been improved. Main time loss now turn 6, 7 and 8 to 9. You can improve going better to approaching turn 9.
Engineer: Okay, good job box this lap for nose box change box this lap for nose box change
Engineer: Big straight line braking 8 and 11 to manage front brakes. Big straight line braking 8 and 11.
Engineer: limpo
Lance STROLL: mode on the dash,
Engineer: limpo mode, copy that we'll find out what's going on
Kevin MAGNUSSEN: Just the check treat the tea tree.
Engineer: Yeah from the last corner. Okay understood
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: Box now off. Yeah, so
Engineer: practice starting pit stop position.
Antonio GIOVINAZZI: Yeah, you're sorry. I missed a bit today. I was thinking you want to do one turn lap
Carlos SAINZ: Yeah, I'm struggling a bit with the rear in the last sector, a bit more than yesterday. Also, breaking confidence at the bite, maybe not so good.
Engineer: OK, copy.
Engineer: Purple one, sectors one and two, we are losing a bit at third sector.
Engineer: and we need to try to improve apex speed 1 so exit turn 14 and apex speed turn 1
Engineer: Turn 21 you can break seven meters later, turn 21 you can break seven meters later
Lando NORRIS: Check the car, it went over the curb quite badly.
Engineer: Yep, okay.
Engineer: Yeah,
Valtteri BOTTAS: the sector tree was a bit of a mess, lost quite a few tents as well.
Engineer: And Lando, how's the front wing please, how's the front wing?
Lando NORRIS: Probably mid on the low side, one, yeah I need plus one.
Engineer: OK.
Nico HULKENBERG: Well, got a flat spot on the front right now.
Engineer: Copy that Niko.
Engineer: The track is clear behind Seb, I'm not sure what he's up to, do not get pushed by him if you need to go slower, manage your tyres do so.
Engineer: Lewis, you are still P1, just 15 thousandths to VALTRI
Daniel RICCIARDO: I'm pretty happy with that. As far as the tires, probably won't get more out of it next time. Okay,
Engineer: understood.
Engineer: Okay, try to pick up the pace a little bit, Max.
Max VERSTAPPEN: Yeah, I've got two cars in front of me, mate.
Engineer: We see a bit of oil coming out of the exhaust. Everything is okay from our side, Checo. We're keeping an eye.
Carlos SAINZ: Going to do a double cooldown lap. It was a mess with the Red Bull overtaking in the last corner.
Engineer: Shall we go up on front wing as a test for this next lap, should we at least test it on the next lap? Yeah, we can do it's just
Alexander ALBON: It's already gonna be okay just because it's a second push
Engineer: So good job for a second attempt. You're 30 milliseconds slower than your best, but second attempt, that's a good job and good improvement, turn 11, 12, 13.
Sergio PEREZ: Did you see that TV? It's
Engineer: all
Sergio PEREZ: okay?
Engineer: Yes, check and confirm. We know what that is, that you can see it on the oil, we know what that is and we're okay.
Sergio PEREZ: I also see the right of the rear wing, something flopping at the bottom of the rear wing.
Engineer: Fox this lap box this lap. I'm sorry. Stay out stay out Copy that
Romain GROSJEAN: I
Engineer: was
Romain GROSJEAN: really cool from Vettel, gave me a nice stream but then last sector was no good.
Engineer: Copy.
Engineer: and try to cool down the tires try to cool down the tires
Engineer: We do not require a bike point find, just two burnouts on the exit of turn 21, a right hand side grid launch in gear 1, right hand side gear 1, two burnouts.
