Cadillac arrived in Formula 1 in 2026 as the sport's first new team in a decade, with two drivers who have won sixteen Grands Prix between them. Fourteen races later, it is the only team without a point.
Sergio Perez's best result is fourteenth. Valtteri Bottas's is thirteenth, in China. The two cars have failed to finish 11 of their 28 race entries, the second worst record on the grid after Aston Martin, and after eleven races the team replaced its founding team principal, Graeme Lowdon, with Marcin Budkowski.
None of that is unusual for a brand new team. What is useful is to see exactly where it stands. Perez's comeback is measured on its own in
0 points, the only team without a score after fourteen rounds.

Probably not the engine
Cadillac runs Ferrari power units, which is worth separating from its results. Ferrari's own cars have failed to finish 4 of 28 entries this season and Haas, the other Ferrari customer, 5 of 28. Cadillac's 11 does not follow the engine maker's pattern, which points to the rest of a car and a race operation built from scratch rather than to the power unit.
That is the useful contrast with Aston Martin, whose problems have been traced to its new engine partner, Honda.
Two experienced drivers at the back
Perez won six Grands Prix for Red Bull and Bottas ten for Mercedes. Neither raced in 2025, and both have spent 2026 fighting at the back of the grid in a car that has started between sixteenth and twenty-second in every race so far.
For both of them, finishing is the first target. Neither has yet finished higher than thirteenth, and the gap to the lowest points-scoring teams, Aston Martin on 3 and Williams on 11, is small in points.
