F1 2026 standings after Madrid: every driver and team, and how the top six got there
The 2026 Formula 1 drivers' and constructors' standings after the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid. Kimi Antonelli leads George Russell by 81 points with nine rounds left, and Mercedes lead Ferrari by 145.
After fourteen rounds of 2026, Kimi Antonelli leads the Formula 1 championship on 292 points, 81 clear of his Mercedes team mate George Russell. Nine rounds and 233 points remain.

Five drivers have won the fourteen Grands Prix so far: Antonelli eight, Russell two (Melbourne and Austria), Norris two (Hungary and Zandvoort), Hamilton one (Barcelona, his first for Ferrari) and Leclerc one (Silverstone). No Red Bull, Racing Bulls or Alpine driver has won a Grand Prix yet, although Pierre Gasly took pole at Monza. Every pole time is in the 2026 pole times.

Kimi Antonelli, 292. Eight wins, six poles and twelve podiums from fourteen races. The two races he did not finish on the podium were a power unit failure four laps from the end in Barcelona and a broken wheel shield at Silverstone. He won Monza from nineteenth on the grid. George Russell, 211. Two wins, four poles and three sprint wins from five, more than anyone. A battery failure took him out of the lead in Canada, a penalty Mercedes served wrongly cost him at Monaco, and he went out on the first lap at Spa. Russell's 2026, measured.
Lewis Hamilton, 191. His first Ferrari win in Barcelona, the 106th of his career, and points in each of the first thirteen races before his brakes failed in Madrid. Hamilton's 2026, measured.
Lando Norris, 186. Wins from pole in Hungary and at Zandvoort, but a non-start in China, failures in Canada and Monaco, and a ten-place grid penalty at Spa. Norris's 2026, measured.
Charles Leclerc, 167. A first Silverstone win, and three races that ended off the track: no brakes at Monaco, hydraulics in Barcelona and a heavy crash at Monza. Leclerc's 2026, measured.
Max Verstappen, 145. No wins and four retirements, but 84 race points in the last seven rounds against 49 in the first seven, with five podiums from Austria onward. Verstappen's 2026, measured.
Oscar Piastri, 120. Did not start in Melbourne or China, then podiums in Japan and Miami, and led Hungary until his gearbox failed. Piastri's 2026, measured.
Isack Hadjar, 71. Third at Monaco and points in seven straight races, then a broken wrist that has cost him Zandvoort, Monza and Madrid. Hadjar's 2026, and his Baku return.

What is left
Nine rounds remain, starting with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku on 26 September, and one sprint, in Singapore. That is 233 points available to any one driver: nine race wins at 25 and a sprint win at 8.
Antonelli's 81 point lead is more than three race wins. Russell can still catch him on paper, but only if Antonelli has several bad weekends.
