Sergio Perez won six Grands Prix for Red Bull. At the end of 2024 they let him go, months after extending his contract. In 2026 he came back, with a team that did not exist a year earlier.
Cadillac, Formula 1's eleventh team, signed Perez and Valtteri Bottas for its debut season on a deal that runs to at least the end of 2027. Perez said he came back to enjoy the sport again after a bruising final year at Red Bull. Fourteen races in, the car has given him little to enjoy: his best result is fourteenth, he has five non-finishes, and Cadillac is the only team yet to score a point.
