Ferrari's 2026 season, measured: two wins, a first pole, and a row at Turn 4
Ferrari are second in the 2026 constructors' championship on 504 points. Hamilton won in Barcelona and Leclerc at Silverstone, Hamilton took the team's first pole in Mexico City, and then the two collided for the lead at Turn 4. The season race by race.
On 14 June Lewis Hamilton won his first Grand Prix for Ferrari in Barcelona. Three weeks later, Charles Leclerc won at Silverstone for the first time. Those are Ferrari's two wins of 2026 so far.
In Mexico City on 31 October Hamilton added the team's first pole of the year. The next afternoon, he and Leclerc went off the track together fighting for the lead at Turn 4, and Max Verstappen won.
Between them they have scored 504 points, second in the constructors' championship and 126 behind Mercedes, with thirteen Grand Prix podiums. For eighteen rounds Ferrari did not take a pole: the first fifteen went to Mercedes-powered cars, two to Verstappen's Red Bull and one to Kimi Antonelli in Austin. And the season has a long list of races that got away, most of them Leclerc's.
Silverstone is the only race where both Ferraris finished on the podium.
The season in numbers

Two wins, three weeks apart
Barcelona, 14 June. Hamilton started second and won with an aggressive undercut and a well-timed stop under the virtual safety car. It was the 106th win of his career, his first for Ferrari and his first in 686 days. His message after the flag thanked the team, the factory, his family and the fans, "for continuing to remind me who I am":

Silverstone, 5 July. Leclerc started second, took the lead with a flying start, and won behind a late safety car, his ninth career win and his first at Silverstone. Hamilton was third, the only race of the season with both Ferraris on the podium.
The races that got away
Leclerc's season is the story of the car stopping him. At Monaco he was running third at home when his brakes failed after a safety car restart:

"Please f***ing brake!" In Barcelona a hydraulic failure put him in the gravel with a handful of laps left, and at Monza he crashed out on lap 2 at the Parabolica.
Hamilton's only non-finish came in Madrid, a few laps in, with a brake failure:

Two brake-related retirements in one season, one for each driver, is the pattern worth watching. After Monaco, Leclerc switched to Hamilton's brake configuration.
Mexico City: the first pole, and Turn 4
In Austin Leclerc was second, 13.078 seconds behind Antonelli, with the fastest lap of the race, and Hamilton fourth. A week later in Mexico City Hamilton took pole by 0.009 seconds from George Russell, Ferrari's first of the year, with Leclerc third.
It went wrong on the first lap. Leclerc went around the outside of Hamilton at Turn 4, both Ferraris ran off the track, Leclerc came back with the lead and Verstappen passed Hamilton on the exit. The stewards gave Leclerc five seconds, which Hamilton thought too little:

Where Ferrari stand
Ferrari are clearly the second force in 2026, well ahead of McLaren on points despite McLaren's two wins, and quick enough on race day to win twice. But qualifying tells a different story. Every pole until Baku went to a Mercedes-powered car, the last two to Red Bull, and Ferrari's best qualifying results are front-row starts, not poles. Toto Wolff has argued that there is little to choose between the Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari power units; Red Bull's recent poles support him more than Ferrari's do. Four rounds remain: Sao Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Ferrari have outscored Mercedes on each of the last four weekends, and they keep the constructors' title open beyond Sao Paulo as long as Mercedes do not outscore them by four points or more there. In the drivers' championship Hamilton is third, two points behind Verstappen for second, and Leclerc fifth.
