The circuit at Portimao, in the Algarve, is a roller coaster. Severe changes of elevation and blind crests define the lap, with corners that rise and fall so sharply that drivers commit over the brow of a hill without seeing the apex, trusting their memory of what lies beyond. It is a layout that rewards bravery and exact placement, where getting a corner slightly wrong compromises everything after it.
A modern Portuguese circuit, it stands out for those dramatic gradients and its flowing character. The constant undulation makes it unusually demanding and unusually satisfying, a track where reading the terrain matters as much as raw speed.
