Haas' 2026 season, measured: seventeen points in two races, a driver stood down, and a debut point
Haas scored 17 of their 31 points in the first two rounds of 2026. Then came a long fade, Rafael Camara signed to replace Esteban Ocon, Ocon stood down in Mexico City, and a point on debut for Ryo Hirakawa. Every race, measured.
Two races into the 2026 season, Haas had 17 points. Seventeen rounds later, they have 31, and one of their two drivers has been stood down.
Oliver Bearman finished seventh in Melbourne and fifth in China, and added a sprint point in Shanghai. Since then the team has scored 14 points in seventeen rounds, with nothing at all in the eight races from Barcelona to Madrid. Baku broke that run with both cars in the points, Bearman added three more for sixth in the wet Singapore sprint, and in Mexico City the reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa took a point on his debut, in place of Esteban Ocon. Haas are seventh in the constructors' championship, four points ahead of Audi.

The season in numbers

No points in the eight races from Barcelona to Madrid, then both cars in the points in Baku, eighth and ninth, for six points, and sixth for Bearman in the Singapore sprint for three more.

The fade
Haas were the surprise of the opening weekends. Bearman started twelfth in Melbourne and finished seventh, then started tenth in Shanghai and finished fifth. Nothing since has come close: the best Grand Prix finish in the seventeen rounds after China is Ocon's eighth in Baku.
The grid positions show where it went. Bearman started 11.0 on average in the first two rounds and 14.9 in the seventeen since. Bearman's fall is the steeper one, from the edge of the top ten to the back third of the grid, and it is his points that disappeared.
Haas use Ferrari power units, and on that engine the works team has had three cars unclassified and Haas six, two of them in the last two races.
Ocon out, Camara in
On 15 October Haas confirmed that Rafael Camara, the Ferrari junior leading Formula 2, replaces Ocon from 2027, with Ocon leaving at the end of the season. In Mexico City Ocon's only running was second practice, where he argued with his engineer over a change to his tyre plan. On Saturday morning Haas stood him down for the rest of the weekend without giving a reason, other than that it was not illness, and Hirakawa scored a point on his debut. Esteban Ocon's ninth at Monaco, the team's last Grand Prix points until Baku, came partly from someone else's penalty, and his engineer told him as soon as the race ended:

What is left
Four rounds remain: Sao Paulo, Las Vegas, the second of Haas' home races, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Haas lead Audi by four points for seventh.
