Zandvoort is an old-school circuit set among the North Sea dunes, narrow and undulating, with sand forever threatening the edges of the track. Its standout feature is banking, including a steeply banked final corner that flings cars onto the straight, a throwback detail that gives the lap a character unlike almost any modern venue. The narrow, banked layout makes overtaking genuinely hard and places a premium on qualifying.
The flowing, tightly bounded layout leaves little room and rewards commitment, and the dunes give it an atmosphere all its own. Backed by a devoted home crowd, it is a classic Dutch venue that feels closer to racing's roots than most circuits on the calendar.
