Yas Marina Circuit

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Yas Marina begins in daylight and finishes under lights, the sky darkening across the race in a way unique to the venue. The lap pairs long straights with a run of slower corners, so traction out of the tight turns and stability under braking tend to decide a quick time, and the smooth surface puts a premium on precision. As the track cools into the evening, the grip keeps shifting beneath the cars.

Set on Yas Island beside a marina, it is a polished, modern circuit with a distinctive twilight setting. The transition from day to night, and the calm, exacting nature of the layout, give the race there a character quite different from the rest of the calendar.
